Veloland-Karten

Under schweizmobil.ch and the brand «Veloland», the Swiss Confederation, the cantons, Liechtenstein, and Switzerland Tourism offer information about Switzerland’s cycling network. The data can also be viewed in the map viewer of the Swiss Confederation.
The usability of schweizmobil.ch is limited and the way the data is portrayed in the map viewer of the Swiss Confederation is not ideal as it does not enable the user to distinguish international, national, regional and local routes (with usually different levels of comfort).
Cycling planning
To make planning cycling trips in Switzerland easier I obtained the data behind «Veloland» and converted it into distincly styled KML files which can be viewed in the map viewer of the Swiss Confederation (and thus be viewed in combination with all the other map layers available there).
Click the following links to see the different network parts on the map (as well as the terrain and, if you want and activate the respective map layer, public transport stops):

In the map viewer, details of each route can be obtained by clicking on it. By clicking on «Profil erstellen» you can view the elevation profile along the route.
The datasets have been updated in May 2023. They are based on the official data distributed by the Federal Roads Office FEDRO.
